QuasarSDS

QuasarSDS is a Kubernetes-native software-defined storage (SDS) system built on SPDK. It turns the NVMe (or block) drives in your cluster nodes into replicated persistent volumes, served over NVMe over Fabrics (TCP), with automatic failover.

What it provides

  • Native NVMe performance: I/O runs in user space through SPDK, bypassing the kernel block stack.
  • Configurable synchronous replication (RF1, RF2 or RF3) per StorageClass.
  • High availability: automatic quorum-based failover, with a stateless witness as tie-breaker.
  • Data integrity: per-block CRC32C checksums, periodic scrubbing and NVMe-oF digests.
  • Encryption at rest with per-volume AES-XTS-256.
  • Data protection: snapshots, backup to S3 and disaster recovery (DR) across sites.

How you use it

From an application's point of view, QuasarSDS is just another CSI driver: you create a PersistentVolumeClaim with a QuasarSDS StorageClass, and everything else (node selection, replicas, NVMe-oF export and mounting) happens automatically.
